Lori Loughlin Charged in Bribery Scheme Bragged About Daughter Getting Into College

Not only has her partnership with Sephora beauty products ended due to a threatened boycott, her online presence has been brought into question in the fallout of her college admission.

"After careful review of recent developments, we have made the decision to end the Sephora Collection partnership with Olivia Jade, effective immediately", a rep told HollywoodLife.

One of the daughters, Olivia Giannulli, has become a prominent "influencer" on social media under the name "Olivia Jade".

Olivia Jade, a popular YouTuber with nearly 2 million subscribers, is suddenly at the center of massive controversy, and even legal trouble, after her mother, actress Lori Loughlin, allegedly paid bribes of $500,000 to get her daughter into a prestigious college.

Loughlin and former Desperate Housewives star fellow actress Felicity Huffman are among 33 parents charged with conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud in the nationwide scam to get their children into elite colleges, including Yale, Stanford, Georgetown and the University of Southern California.

"The prime movers of this fraud" were the parents and other defendants, Lelling said, though he noted some students may face charges down the road. Loughlin's daughters allegedly gained entrance into USC as crew recruits, despite not having the credentials to participate in the sport.

Prosecutors revealed on Tuesday that they planned to indicted more than 40 people in the "largest college admissions scam ever", with Loughlin, 54, and Giannulli, 55, on their list.

"Mostly, my parents really wanted me to go because both of them didn't go to college", she said. We've reached out to the USC communications major for a comment on the news but we've yet to receive a response.

Meanwhile, as the story unraveled Jade was reportedly on a yacht in the Bahamas owned by the Chairman of USC's Board of Trustees, while the university is still deciding on the fate of the 19-year-old freshman.

DeVos said in a Fox News interview that although the Justice Department is leading the case, her department is reviewing whether it should play a role.

FBI Special Agent Joseph Bonavolonta said the parents spent anywhere from $200,000 to $6.5 million to guarantee admissions for their children.

USC is reviewing the school's application process, officials said.

Loughlin's attorneys requested similar conditions for the actress even though she was not present in court. Loughlin previously appeared in the network's Christmas movies and stars in the series When Calls the Heart, reports The Hollywood Reporter. Olivia's mother has not been arrested yet, but she's been charged.

Loughlin and Giannulli were taken into federal custody and later released on separate $1 million bonds on Wednesday.

Athletic coaches at a number of universities and colleges have been fired for allegedly accepting bribes. Prosecutors called it the largest such scandal in US history.
