Jenner took the title from Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg, who became a billionaire in 2008 at age 23, and Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates held it in 1987 at age 31.

Forbes recently released their list of the richest people for 2019, and at just 21 years old, Kylie Jenner has made the list with an estimated net worth of a billion dollars. Wow.

On Tuesday, it became official: Kylie Jenner was declared the youngest self-made billionaire, according to Forbes. The 21-year-old also had a huge business expansion and her growth in the beauty industry has been sizeable.

Of her success, she added: "I didn't expect anything". At the time, Forbes calculated her net worth at $900 million, so she was well on her way to hitting the billions mark, but wasn't there quite yet.

Although Kylie Jenner is now experiencing a lot of drama in her personal life, her business couldn't be going any better.

Is Kylie Jenner is self-made? Kylie's influence on social media is huge and she does know how to market a brand and while she might be a huge deal in the world of entertainment, nobody is taking notes on "making it all on your own" from her.

During an interview with Paper magazine last month, Jenner acknowledged her huge platform but said her parents "cut her off at the age of 15". "I had such a strong reach before I was able to start anything". Jenner has 128 million followers on Instagram alone, where she constantly posts about her new products. Her family, after all, is rich and famous. Dictionary.com's Twitter account wrote, including its definition of "self-made".

There are many people disputing the claim that reality TV show star and cosmetics mogul Kylie Jenner is a self-made billionaire, but 100 Thieves CEO Matt "Nadeshot" Haag is having none of it. Talking about its staff, it is managed by only 12 employees (five out of whom are part-time) and most of her products are outsourced.

"It's the power of social media".
