"We're sorry some of our customers may continue to experience an issue with our online banking and mobile app".

A message on the bank's website says "some of our web pages are temporarily unavailable".

On Thursday, the bank said its ATM services had been restored and its mobile and online systems were working, although not all features were restored. "We apologize for the inconvenience", Wells Fargo told Newsweek.

For many customers, the outage left them in the dark about their account status.

Some customers are reporting on social media that they are having issues at ATMS, too.

At about 12:45 p.m. EST Wells Fargo said on its Twitter account power had been terminated at one of its facilities due to the presence of smoke found by routine maintenance. There are some rumors Wells Fargo's servers may be offline until Friday.

Though the services are now up and running again for some customers, others have reported they're still experiencing problems.

The Wells Fargo Twitter account tweeted after the outage had been impacting users for more than an hour. Customers can use their Wells Fargo credit and debit cards to make purchases and get cash. "We're working hard to resolve the matter ASAP and will post additional updates here", the company tweeted the day of the initial breakdown.
