Perth band Tame Impala announced as Coachella headliners alongside Childish Gambino and Ariana Grande

Childish Gambino, Tame Impala, and Ariana Grande will all lead the fest in April.

Hidden amidst the massive roster of big-name pop acts and well-regarded indie bands for this year's Coachella Valley Arts and Music Festival was a name that might have seemed out of place to most music fans - Idris Elba. While Gambino will perform at day one, Tame Impala will perform on second day and Ariana Grande will be the third one to perform at the festival.

It all caps off on Sunday, with performances from Pusha-T, Khalid, Bad Bunny, YG, Playboi Carti, H.E.R., and Grande, who shared her excitement over her first Coachella booking. Saturday sees Solange, Aphex Twin, J Balvin, Four Tet, Sheck Wes, Christine and the Queens, Kid Cudi, serpentwithfeet, Hop Along and Shame. America's preeminent music festival returns for its 20th edition on April 12th-14th and April 19th-21st at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California. Kanye West and Justin Timberlake were previously rumored to headline.

Passes for both festival weekends will go on sale Friday, Jan. 4 at 2 p.m. ET on Coachella's website.

According to TMZ, the 41-year-old rapper refused to perform on the standard 60x40 stage as it was "artistically limiting".
