Monster Hunter World & The Witcher 3 Collaboration Coming Early 2019

If you've somehow missed out on the best co-op game of this year, Monster Hunter: World is getting a big trial version in a couple of days. Capcom has revealed a new expansion for Monster Hunter World, along with a particularly exciting crossover event for RPG lovers. More information will be released on the Iceborne expansion next spring. Iceborne will add a higher quest rank analogous to the G rank difficulty of previous games, as well as new and returning monsters, a post-game story set in a chilly new biome, and a visit from The Witcher 3's Geralt. World has already gotten a ton of free content and a very well received collaboration with Final Fantasy XIV - it's easily the top Monster Hunter in my book at this point.

Not only is Geralt from The Witcher coming to Monster Hunter: World, but Capcom has also announced an entirely new expansion that is planned for release on consoles in the fall of 2019. In it, you can see a dragon-like monster named Rathalos flying across the ocean before reaching a previously undiscovered island of rock and ice.

The Appreciation Fest is slated to take place in January 2019.

On December 20 the Kulve Taroth Siege special event quest will launch on PS4, Xbox One and PCs.

Capcom also announced a limited demo, available only for one week, but that's not coming to PC so to heck with that. The trial will run from Tuesday, December 11 at 4 PM PST to Monday, December 17 at 3:59 PM PST and will let players participate in three-star or lower quests and undertake online missions up to Hunter Rank 4.
