Global magazine removes hateful article on Priyanka, apologizes

Along with the tweet, the "Quantico" actress shared a photograph in which she and her husband American singer Nick Jonas and her mother Madhu Chopra can be seen having moments of laughter with the PM.

Rather than updating or correcting the piece, the article - originally titled, "Is Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas' Love for Real?" - has been replaced with a staff byline and a new headline: "Editor's Note: Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas". "We've removed it and apologize".

On Tuesday the starlet finally posted a picture on her Instagram account unveiling her intricately designed Ralph Lauren dress.

When I first heard that Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas were "a thing", I didn't believe it.

Nick Jonas has never shied away from flirting with his Lady Love on social media. And the reception night was no different.

The article, which has since been deleted except for an editor's note, argued the marriage was "fraudulent" and that Nick and Priyanka's relationship wouldn't last. It reeks of envy and bitterness.

Earlier, Indian celebrities including Sonam Kapoor, Swara Bhasker and Sona Mohapatra had all found this article extremely problematic and expressed their disgust on Twitter.

The couple hosted an extravagant concert on December 2 for their star-studded wedding guests as the couple tied the knot at a lavish Indian palace.

Next, Priyanka's confession that she "works very hard to spoil herself" was connected to 'shopping around for the finer things in life while her team shops for finer men.' In one fell swoop negating her many achievements and feeding into the misogynistic trope in which successful women are shamed for spending their hard-earned money on themselves. For the record, having the groom ride a horse is also a traditional part of Hindu ceremonies and by exoticizing that, and making it seem like Nick Jonas was forced to do something against his will, is racist. "Priyanka's indulgences and what she views as necessities speak volumes to her personality and what she'll do, or think she needs to do, for her career", wrote Smith. Another comment read: "Forget petty".
