Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford explains 'freak' mistake

Origi capitalised on a mistake from Everton goalkeeper Pickford in the sixth minute of time added on to spark jubilant scenes as Reds boss Jurgen Klopp raced on to the Anfield pitch to celebrate before the match was over.

In the 96th minute, Van Dijk's sliced effort looped harmlessly towards the far side of the bar, but Pickford spilled the ball back into play and Origi was on hand to head in from a yard out to win it for Liverpool. It bounced a second time onto the bar and dropped down to the waiting Origi, who headed home from a meter out.

Prizes include, a trip to Old Trafford to watch Man United take on Liverpool in the Premier League, tickets to Ireland's home games in the Six Nations, All Ireland football and hurling final tickets and much more.

"I couldn't stop myself".

"What can I say about it?"

The win, combined with Arsenal's victory, puts Chelsea in third place, one point ahead of the north London rivals and five behind Liverpool. Everton still hasn't won at Anfield in the league since 1999 and its players were crestfallen at fulltime, particularly Pickford, who was at fault for not tipping the ball over the bar for a corner.

Everton's goalkeeper was devastated but insisted he would react positively. "We are consoling Jordan [Pickford]".

Divock Origi scored his first Liverpool goal since May 2017 by netting a stoppage-time victor in a pulsating 1-0 derby victory against Everton at Anfield. Today it has paid off. Scoring as a striker is one of the most attractive feelings. This is more than being about a derby win, it's about keeping in touch with Manchester City.

"The passion for the city, the passion for the fans, for them, this is the most important game in the season".

At least they created chances against Everton - unlike in the loss to Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday.

Sadio Mane also missed two good opportunities in either half to keep the score level until the late stages in the game.

"We had that free kick". His luck would turn in injury time, though.

In defence of Allardyce, the former England manager was tasked with keeping Everton up and he did just that, but there was precious little flair or entertainment on offer at Goodison Park last season.

The Belgian was given a huge assist from Jordan Pickford who pushed a ball that may have been going over his crossbar onto the head of the substitute, who was making his first Premier League appearance for Liverpool since August 2017.

But there was no fear factor from Everton on this occasion and their new players were central to the confidence within the blue ranks.
