The Daily Mail reports that Queen Elizabeth has invited Meghan Markle's mother to spend Christmas with the royals this year, an offer that hasn't been extended to Kate Middleton's family before.

Many royal watchers were quick to point out that this was the Queen's way of showing her approval for her grandson Prince Harry's fiancee.

Doria Ragland has reportedly been asked to join the royals on Christmas day. While the Duchess of Cambridge's family has been invited to join the royals for Christmas festivities at her and Prince William's home at neighboring Anmer Hall, the Queen's Sandringham House has previously been reserved only for immediate members of the royal family. "Normally, the protocol is pretty strict".

Just days ago, Meghan Markle delivered a powerful speech about women's suffrage, and many are speculating whether the United States citizen practiced what she preached on Election Day Tuesday.

However, LA-born Meghan knows the importance of using her vote, and only last week gave a powerful speech about women's right to do so while in New Zealand ahead of the United States elections on Tuesday.

Buckingham Palace told The Sun Online they were unable to comment on private matters concerning the royal family.

This year, as a married woman, Meghan will automatically be taking part in the holiday activities at Sandringham. Even Kate Middleton's family has not been invited to the Norfolk estate.

Meghan will attend not one but two church services on Christmas Day.

Royal reporters who have followed Meghan's two-year journey from Harry's girlfriend to fully minted royal member say the Queen was immediately taken with her and believes she is a wonderful match for Harry.

Meghan and her mum, Doria Ragland, are said to have a close relationship.
