High turnout is forecast for the U.S. midterm elections

President Donald Trump waves upon arrival at the White House in Washington Wednesday Oct. 31 2018 from a campaign rally in Fort Myers Fla

US President Donald Trump attends a campaign rally for Republican US Senate candidate Matt Rosendale at the Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport in Belgrade, Montana, November 3, 2018.

He isn't on the ballot.

"So one side could increase their strength within the caucus, but only if they win a larger share of the seats up for grabs", he said.

In one respect, this is a typical midterm election - a race shaped as a referendum on the president and the party in power.

McSally's Democratic opponent is Kyrsten Sinema, 42, a three-term member of the House of Representatives who spent several years of her childhood in poverty after her parents divorced.

The Republicans have 235 seats in the House, the Democrats 193, and there are seven vacancies. The Guardian reports that gains of 23-plus have only occurred five times in the last 50 years. In the Senate, 35 out of 100 seats are on the line. But no one can argue that the midterm elections won't matter. They view House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi as a potent foil for Trump, and believe they can tag the party responsibility for Washington dysfunction.

"Wow! The US added 250,000 Jobs in October - and this was despite the hurricanes", Trump heralded in a typically high-energy tweet. Trump said on Twitter early Saturday.

Democratic Sen. Joe Donnelly is trying to fend off Republican businessman Mike Braun in a state that Trump won by 19 percentage points. The Democrats could reject any new cabinet or Supreme Court appointments and go after Trump's tax returns.

He explained his reemergence at a Georgia rally in support of Stacey Abrams, who is seeking to be the first black female governor of any USA state.

There are a range of outcomes. The blue wave could very well happen, though it's a GOP lock in the Senate. But the electoral system is lopsided and unrepresentive with each state having two senators regardless of population.

Meanwhile, at the state level, Democratic governors and state legislatures could begin marching their governance leftward in advance of the 2020 elections.

It is unclear who created, or paid for the ad. We will see how successful that strategy was.

If Republicans win the House, they will continue to control Congress and the White House, allowing Trump to continue to press toward his legislative agenda as he has since he took office.

According to independent polling site FiveThirtyEight, Democrats have a 15.9 percent chance of winning control of the Senate. Normally that's an aid to the governing party.

Reviewing Trump's process in granting and revoking clearances will be a "top priority" for Democrats, the source close to the House Oversight Committee said, adding that lawmakers would also subpoena documents related to the revocation of Brennan's clearance.

And "unpredictable" is a pretty good word to describe the last few years in USA politics. The Obama coalition consisted of liberals, young voters, African-Americans and Hispanics.

Trump said the choice come Tuesday is clear - vote Republican if you support him. The problem for Democrats is getting enough of their people to the polls.

TURNOUT: While midterm elections typically generate less voter interest than their presidential counterparts, 2018 is already bucking the trend. Lamb has support from more than half of likely voters.

The second is that it gives Trump a boogeyman - or, more apt, a boogeywoman.

Democrats have high hopes for flipping this seat in Arizona, where Democratic Rep. Kyrsten Sinema is running against Republican Rep. Martha McSally.

There are now 17 Republican-held districts that are seeing a slight or strong lean toward Democrats, mainly in upper-middle-class suburbs, including in the states of New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

Meanwhile, bitter races in many states are giving rise to last-minute dirty campaign tactics.

But while the signs look good for the Democrats in the House, the Senate is another story.

On the right, Jamie Weinstein of the conservative National Review tweeted Wednesday that the Bracamontes video was "without question. a racist ad". A longer wait is possible since there are competitive House races on the West coast.
