India's skipper Virat Kohli on Wednesday became the fastest-ever batsmen to reach 10,000 One-day International (ODI) runs, making history in his 205th innings against the West Indies in Visakhapatnam. South Africa's Hashim Amla had achieved the landmark in just 101 innings and Shikhar is likely to take over the second position by surpassing Virat Kohli and Sir Viv Richard by scoring 5,000 runs in 111 matches. His century against West Indies in the first ODI on Sunday was his 60th worldwide hundred (36 in ODIs and 24 in Tests) and the 386 innings it took him meant he was the fastest to reach that landmark, taking 40 fewer than the previous record-holder Tendulkar.

"There are many people who want this (playing for India) very badly".

On his never-ending levels of commitment the Indian captain said, "If I have to dive six times in an over, I will do that for the team", said Kohli. That's part of my job.

"Because that's my duty and that's why I am selected to play for my country". Not showing anyone that I am committed but it's purely gaining that extra run for the team. It's not doing anyone a favour. "I've just focused on the situation, and I'm glad that I've been able to help the team by contributing with the bat". Here's take a look at how netizens have reacted to Kohli scoring 10,000 ODI for India. By virtue of his 37th century, he also registered the record of most number of centuries against the Windies. "Then the runs become more anyway", Kohli said.
