Florida ticket wins $2 million as Powerball jackpot swells to $430 million

The Mega Millions jackpot beat its own record once again after no ticket matched all the six numbers in the drawing Tuesday night.

Meanwhile, the Powerball jackpot for Saturday's' drawing stands at an estimated annuity of $345 million.

- After almost three months without a victor, the Mega Millions lottery game has climbed to an estimated $654 million jackpot.

On Oct. 17, Ronnie Parker of Dawson Springs cashed a $1 million ticket from Tuesday night's Mega Millions drawing.

Lottery officials say the ticket was sold at the Minit Mart #664 on Leestown Road.

Saturday's jackpot will be $430 million. But only recently has the game been shelling out massive jackpots.

And then there's Friday's monster Mega Millions drawing, the largest in the game's history.

Reducing the number of balls for the first five numbers increases the chances of winning a smaller prize.

Lottery officials say three people have won $1 million playing in the past 10 days.

- The Florida Lottery is warning people not to fall for a Mega Millions scam.

No one has matched all six numbers and won the Mega Millions grand prize since July 24.

Tickets are $2 at any place that sells N.C. lottery tickets. "The way you want to think about it is that there are set amount of numbers in the game, and it's you against probability, not against the other players".

Since Mega Millions modified the formula, players now pick five numbers from 1 to 70 and a Mega number of 1 to 25.

For an extra $1 you can get a "Power Play" ticket in which you can increase the amount of the smaller prizes, but not the grand prize.
