Ruby Rose debuts her sensational Batwoman costume for The CW

The CW unveiled the first photo of Ruby Rose in costume as Kate Kane's superhero alter-ego on Tuesday, showing the actress rocking a bat suit, cape, cowl and the character's trademark red wig.

Designed by Oscar victor Colleen Atwood, the fight-ready Batwoman costume features a winged cape, a red bat symbol across the chest, a utility belt, and, most striking of all, a red wig emerging from the traditional cowl.

The three-night event will begin with The Flash on Sunday, December 9, continue to Arrow on December 10 and conclude on Supergirl on December 11. The first look photo of the actress as the iconic Batwoman debuted on October 9, and Ruby completely transforms into the role of the superhero. Along with the her lesbian identity, The Hollywood Reporter points out, Kate Kane comes "armed with a passion for social justice and flair for speaking her mind".

Ruby Rose was first announced to be playing Katherine Kane / Batwoman earlier this year. But don't call her a hero yet. The network is also planning a standalone Batwoman TV series for 2019.
