"Simply put, in the PDP presidential primary, every vote counted".

He said this on Saturday while giving his opening address during the PDP's presidential primary in Port Hacourt, the Rivers State capital.

The minister, who said that President Buhari had done wonderfully well in this first term, urged all eligible Nigerian voters to come out and vote for him in 2o19.

The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Uche Secondus, has said that the party will soon overthrow the All Progressive Congress (APC) to become the ruling party. That is to say, we will all work for the development of the country.

Abubakar hopes to replicate Buhari's 2015 feat of winning a presidential election at the fourth attempt after he left the ruling APC party in November and re-joined the PDP a month later.

"We are all here", he said. "As governors, we will lead to your campaign and will ensure to your victory", he assured President Buhari.

Following Mr Tambuwal closely was Senate President Bukola Saraki who scored 317 votes.

Dankwambo garnered 68 per cent of all votes cast. His spokesperson had earlier confirmed that the Twitter handle belongs to his principal.

In his acceptance speech, Abubakar said he learnt a lot under Obasanjo when he served as his deputy from 1999 to 2007.

"I need your assurance, support assistance and participant".

Dickson described the primaries that produced Atiku as the freest and best election ever conducted in the history of the country.

He said the emergence of many political parties was good for democracy and freedom.

"Let me also commend my fellow competitors for displaying a sense of unity, a sense of goal and a sense of commitment".

He described President Muhammadu Buhari as clueless, adding that the PDP can not afford to fail at the general election.

The cleric who is a persistent critic of the Buhari administration has also indicated interest to run for the presidency at a year he is yet to disclose. The president has already been declared the APC candidate for the election.
