Super sub Hazard dumps Liverpool out of League Cup

Chelsea haven't won consecutive home Premier League games against Liverpool since a run of three victories between October 2004 and September 2006 under Jose Mourinho.

However, the acid test for where Chelsea's title ambitions stand will come when Liverpool visit on Saturday looking to extend their 100 percent start to the Premier League season.

"His goal against Liverpool was unbelievable".

Hazard, who is yet to sign a new contract at Chelsea amid reported interest from Real Madrid, will look to repeat his heroics when the Blues face Liverpool again in the Premier League on Saturday. The only other Premier League players in the first 11 were his Chelsea team-mate N'golo Kante and Manchester United keeper David De Gea.

Hazard said: "The cup game was important for Saturday I think".

Quizzed on what level Hazard is at the moment, the former Blues favourite went on to say that while the Belgian is already one of the world's elite, he can still improve and reach greater heights with his limitless potential. I think what you saw in this goal was everything that makes Hazard such a standout player: strength, composure, pace. and he really is an incredible player. So I think he has to wait. Now I think they are ready to win. Both Sarri and Jurgen Klopp made eight changes to their team for the Carabao Cup tie, and you can probably expect another eight at Stamford Bridge.

After netting three times in Belgium's World Cup campaign over the summer that ended with them coming third, the forward has been in fine form for Chelsea this season.

Klopp knows Chelsea winger Eden Hazard, who scored a brilliant solo victor after coming on as a second-half substitute, represents the biggest threat to his team's ideal start. "I believe that. I want to let my feet do the talking for my club and, if that happens, I believe I will be back on the global scene sooner rather than later", submitted Barkley, who suffered various degree of injury, since June 2017.

Hazard's goal came six minutes after he helped create Emerson Palmieri's equaliser, which cancelled out Daniel Sturridge's 58th-minute opener.
