Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey is likely to leave the club next summer after the Gunners withdrew the offer of a new deal.

The Blues have been pushed out to 7/2 second-favourites, sitting ahead of Liverpool (5/1), Everton (6/1) and Man United (8/1) in the betting.

Ramsey joined the Gunners in 2008 in a £4.8m move from hometown club Cardiff City.

The 27-year-old could be sold in the winter transfer window or could leave as a free agent in the summer.

Ramsey is currently on just over £100,000-a-week (€112,000) but could realistically expect around £200,000-a-week over the next four years given his own status and the salaries that are now being paid elsewhere at Arsenal.

'The football career for the players is very short.

"He doesn't hide. He's somebody that if they can get it going, I'm desperate for him to stay but I do understand that Arsenal cannot continue to let players dictate like they are now".

With Matteo Guendouzi and Lucas Torreira both arriving at the club in the summer, Ramsey has found himself competing with more players for a spot in central midfield, where it looks like Emery has found his ideal partnership between Uruguay star Torreira and Swiss midfielder Granit Xhaka.

'Now I am sure the best for us and the best for him is to take this opportunity to do the best performance each match, to show everyone his best quality'.

"He can do a bit of everything, he sees passes, he'll go box to box and he covers more ground than most players - at the Euros I think he covered more ground than every other player", he said.

"Maybe I will someday, who knows what will happen in the future?" They are professional for 10-15 years, not more usually.

Arsenal may try to cash in on the Wales global in January but Ramsey is thought to be keen to stay until the end of the season, knowing that he would be likely to receive a better financial offer if he moved on without a transfer fee.

Sevilla's Ever Banega reportedly emerges as a top target for Arsenal as they prepare for the impending loss of long-serving midfielder Aaron Ramsey.
