Fortnite Season 6 (v6.0) Map Updates - Floating Island, Corn Fields, and more

Keep an eye on our Fortnite Season 6 hub page as we update the page with the latest changes.

Season 6 of Fortnite is upon us and with it comes a handful of new additions to the game including new character skins, an updated map, a new item to shake up combat, and. pets.

As ever, Fortnite Season 6 also heralds the arrival of the new v6.00 patch, with various tweaks, bug fixes and so on, as well as an XP boost for Save the World and the new Riot Husky enemy, equipped with a shield, to take on.

For players interested in grabbing new costumes and pets, the new Season 6 battle pass is now available, which unlocks the items as players play more and unlock new levels.

Loot Lake is, no doubt, the most noticeable change to the map. It's now known as the Floating Island. The surrounding area is still a lake, but it has been fractured into multiple levels with some areas of shallow water that make it easier to run across.

Season six of Fortnite introduces the Wailing Woods, a floating Haunted Castle, and Shadow Stones. Changes have happened all over the map, glide in to find all of them now. Corrupted areas have Shadow Stones scattered about, which should be consumed to "uncover their power". These can transform you into Shadow Form for a brief period of time; in this form, you'll be unable to use any weapons, but you'll appear invisible to other players when you're stationary.

Other changes celebrate autumn.

Finally, the corn in Fatal Fields has started to grow at the beginning of the fall season. And with Halloween approaching, it's only fitting that we now have a Haunted Castle overlooking Haunted Hills. While not as extensive as previous map changes to the battle royale game, there are still a few highlights tucked away in here. The hero and villain bases from Season 4 have also been significantly damaged.
