Cech's heroics laid the foundation for Arsenal's burst of two goals in three minutes, but it might have been different if Emery had been quicker with a planned substitution.

The Spaniard endured a tough start to his Emirates tenure, losing his first two Premier League games against Manchester City and Chelsea, but Arsenal have since gone on to record five consecutive victories in all competitions. This is not sometimes how you win the league.

"I would say "the Arsenal Way" was more important than getting the points sometimes and this is not sometimes how you win the league".

Cazorla, who departed Emirates Stadium alongside Wenger over the summer, believes that the north London outfit were left suffering with an inferiority complex as big-spending rivals edged ahead of them. In short, Emery's team are a work in progress and they plainly have obstacles to overcome.

'For any club who've won titles in recent years you have that knowhow how to finish it off, ' he said. I make mistakes; my players as well. The longer it goes on, the harder it becomes.

Emery was also questioned over who he thought was the best player in the world, due to the then upcoming FIFA "The Best" award, which was subsequently won by Luka Modric.

"We didn't control the match like we wanted to in the first half, but our goalkeeper had a good performance to keep us in it", Emery told the BBC.

"We are very happy with the goalkeepers".

"Petr, he has a lot of experience and quality", Emery said.

Ramsey has been deployed in the No.10 role in recent weeks but has struggled to find his best form with the Welsh global putting in some very average performances against the likes of West Ham, Cardiff City and Newcastle United this month.
