"We are committed to our philosophy of blending top academy graduates with world-class players, and are proud that, once again, last season we had more academy graduate minutes on the pitch than any other Premier League club".

The 25-year-old midfielder was heavily linked with an exit from the club in the summer, with Barcelona reportedly targeting United's club-record signing.

"José Mourinho told the players that Paul Pogba will not be the captain because he doesn't represent what a captain is and Manchester United is bigger than anyone", a Carrington source said, as per The Times.

"We're at home and we should play much better against Wolves", Pogba said (via the Daily Mirror).

"I am the manager, I can make these decisions, no fall-out at all, no problems at all, just one decision that I don't have to explain".

It was largely attributed to Jose Mourinho's side being knocked out of the Champions League early last season. "We are here to attack", Pogba told the media after the match.

But Derby threatened throughout and got an equaliser in the second half when on-loan Liverpool winger Harry Wilson scored a brilliant free-kick from distance which completed deceived United goalkeeper Sergio Romero. "When I saw we were coming to the sixth and seventh penalty with Phil Jones and (Eric) Bailly, I knew we were in trouble". Lampard has little to lose, Mourinho has quite a bit.

Manchester United were held by Wolves at Old Trafford on Saturday and with that, the Red Devils have fallen further behind in the title challenge.

United have a number of midfield options at the moment and it will be interesting if we do move for the player in the winter window. I wanted to bring a team who could really compete.

"I am trying to build a group to be successful and nights like this are incredible".
