Why the Anfield atmosphere actually harms Liverpool in the Premier League

Paris Saint-Germain's French goalkeeper Alphonse Areola (C) saves a shot from a corner during the UEFA Champions League group C football match between Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain at Anfield in Liverpool, north west England on September 18, 2018.

Despite his side's win over the French champions, in which Roberto Firmino bagged a stoppage-time victor, Klopp still thinks PSG are among the favourites for this season's Champions League.

Only a few minutes later Liverpool found themselves only a goal to the good once again however, as Thomas Meunier found the net with a beautifully struck half-volley on his weaker left side as the ball cannoned off of Robertson in the area.

"I said to Daniel before the game he is the best shape since I've known him, physically, and now he had to use it - and that's what he did", Klopp told the club's official website. "You can bring Bobby Firmino on and that helps a lot".

"You've all seen the "no look" goals so I think he doesn't need his eye to play. I texted him saying, "You don't need your eye".

Substitute Roberto Firmino drilled home an added-time victor as Liverpool won an enthralling Champions League opener 3-2 at home to Paris St Germain.

As for Paris Saint Germain, they will now look to get back to winning ways against Stade Rennes on Sunday.

Barca ran away with the game in the second half, with Ousmane Dembele scoring a stunner before Messi added two more to complete his eighth Champions League hat-trick, one more than Cristiano Ronaldo, and seal a 4-0 win. Klopp will likely turn to Daniel Sturridge in Firmino's place.

"We scored wonderful goals, they were thunderballs".

While Liverpool fans are pumped for the nights when PSG, Roma or Borussia Dortmund come to town, games against Brighton, Bournemouth and Huddersfield have a different feel.

"There's a difference between stars we see overseas and those we have in France".

"We changed the system because we expected a change from them". I am happy with my team's performance - the match was of a high level.

Sturridge was not the only Liverpool player to impress me, but Klopp had more than just individual performances to be pleased about.
