With acts like fan and judge favorite Michael Ketterer not winning it all, social reactions were mixed.

On Tuesday's first half of the two-night finale show, the acts demonstrated their talent one last time.

Howie Mandel, who had given Hadwin a Golden Buzzer straight to the live rounds, called the singer a "superstar in the making", and had obviously been rooting for her.

The judges on America's Got Talent were comedian and actor Howie Mandel, singer Mel B, model Heidi Klum and TV titan Simon Cowell.

Like Hadwin, Ketterer went out on a high note with a perfomance of "The Courage to Love", a song written specially for him by Garth Brooks.

Vocalists Daniel Emmet and Glennis Grace were also losers this season, along with comedian Vicki Barbalok and Samuel J. Comroe, while trapeze artists Duo Transcend were brought down to earth.

The sleight-of-hand wizard won Season 13 of "America's Got Talent" on Wednesday, becoming just the second magician to do so. Even the runners up, dance troupe Zurcaroh, were thrilled for him, immediately surrounding him and lifting him into the air upon his win. In the end, it was Lim's mind-blowing card tricks that made him the victor.

He said: "I love your performance. You've got to show your personality, you've got to be a showman".

The 26 year-old not only wins $1 million, but also gets to headline the America's Got Talent stage in Las Vegas in November.

"I felt a reaction in the room tonight when he sang the Garth song, it was actually incredible, and yeah, we are going to be working together, there's no doubt", Cowell said.

Courtney's first appearance on America's Got Talent went viral and she has since impressed with covers of classic songs including Steppenwolf's 1969 hit Born To Be Wild, Otis Redding's Hard To Handle and James Brown's Papa's Got A Brand New Bag.

The guys have a special connection, as Simon begged Garth to write a song just for Michael.and the country singer obliged.
