The new Amazon Echo Plus, the Echo Auto and the new Echo Show.

That wasn't far off, as it turns out. We've got an Alexa-powered wall clock, microwave, receivers, as well as updated an Echo Dot.

The rear of the device looks like a large speaker and is covered in fabric. Expect official deets once October 9 arrives. About two-thirds of smart speaker users in the USA will use an Amazon Echo this year, compared to less than 30 percent who will use a Google Home, according to EMarketer Inc.

Meanwhile, the new Echo Plus-priced at $149.99-offers "more powerful" and "clearer" sound with stronger bass, Amazon said.

When Amazon invented a new product category with the Echo, others were always likely to follow. Link Amp features multiple inputs and outputs, two channels, and 60 watts of power. It ships later this year.

Dave Limp, Amazon senior vice president of devices and services, demoed the new product on stage with a potato, showing how the microwave can be activated with your voice.

Lastly, the Echo Smart Plug is Amazon's way of pushing the "smart home" dream. You've got it. Want a custom Alexa for your dang vehicle? Amazon has also added a built-in Ask Alexa button to directly instruct Alexa to cook for you. Not limited to security cameras, these controls can also work with other devices such as TV and lights.

The Stick Up Cam can be used both indoors and out and can integrate with Ring Alarm when used inside the house. The device is listed as having improved smart speaker capabilities than the current Google Home speakers. Alexa will soon support Skype audio and video calls, so you will be able to make Skype calls from your Echo Show. The new model also includes a new speaker that is claimed to sound louder and richer. It will cost $230. A two-tuner model will let you record two shows at once and includes 500GB of DVR space for $229.99.

Inc. unveiled a new $50 Echo Dot with an improved speaker, one of the first devices unveiled in a product show created to keep pushing smarthome gadgets during the busy holiday shopping season. It has 8 microphones and will cost $50 normally, but Amazon is now offering a $25 "invite price" for early adopters who sign-up this year.

And that's your hardware lot.

I'm going to focus on the devices here today and then in tomorrow's newsletter do a deep dive into the Connect Kit ecosystem play that Amazon announced.
