Nintendo announced new wireless NES controllers today as an exclusive for subscribers of the Switch's online service. The original stream was delayed due to the 6.6 magnitude Hokkaido natural disaster, so now it will take place on Thursday, September 13 at 3:00pm Pacific Time.

Until now, Nintendo has allowed Switch owners to play their games online for free. If your Switch has more than one account, they offer a bundle deal for two or more accounts at $34.99. Keep in mind that purchasing the set is limited to Nintendo Switch Online members only.

A total of two controllers will be sold together for $59.99 United States dollars; pre-orders for the upcoming controller option start on September 18 on the Nintendo.com website, though it is unclear when shipping will begin. You can also watch the event on Nintendo's Twitch channel. I'd also recommend the cloud saves for those of you with massive completionist save files (looking at you, Breath of the Wild), so you don't have to worry about them being lost for some reason. For individual memberships, one, three and 12-month subscriptions will cost $3.99, $7.99 and $19.99, respectively.

Will you be signing up for Switch Online once it debuts on September 18th?

Nintendo said it plans to release a 6.0.0. firmware update for the Switch console soon that will include a paywall for online multiplayer as well as classic NES games.
