Bigger, pricier iPhone? Here's what Apple is expected to unveil today

But in the space of two weeks, two massive website leaks have revealed what Apple Watch Series 4 and the new iPhone lineup will look like, and what they'll be called.

Apple wants users to upgrade to newer, more expensive devices as a way to boost revenue as global demand for smartphones levels off.

Allthings.how found some hidden URLs in a product sitemap XML file on Apple.com.

As ATH reports, someone at Apple chose to update the product sitemap file on Apple.com, presumably as part of the preparations for the new smartphones being revealed at the Apple iPhone event kicking off at 1pm ET today.

The strategy is working, helping Apple become the first publicly traded USA company to hit a market value of more than $1 trillion earlier this year.

"There's no real game changer on the table", Hal Eddins, the chief economist at Apple shareholder Capital Investment Counsel, told Reuters.

The iPhone XS has landed.

Most phone models don't change enough from one year to the next to get people to upgrade often, but camera improvements can make photography appreciably better in just 12 months.

Two of the iPhone models predicted to debut on Wednesday were expected to have prices higher than the iPhone X, which has been a hot seller.

The iPhone XS, with a 5.8-inch display, and the iPhone XS Max, with a 6.5-inch display, will both be available in silver, black, and gold, and also offer three storage options - 64GB, 256GB, and 512GB.

A second phone with a 14.7-centimetre OLED display, called iPhone XS, is similar to the iPhone X but with an improved processor.

A low-priced version of the iPhone X, with a 6.1-inch screen, it is expected to attract mass attention.

The new iPhone XS models also have a slider that lets you adjust how out of focus the background is behind a photos's subject - a quality known in photography circles as bokeh.

Rival Samsung Electronics Co Ltd has a few models that cost almost as much as Apple models, but the bulk of its line-up, like that of other phone makers, consists of cheaper models.

The Sitemap also confirmed that Apple will be launching Watch 4 with 40mm and 44mm watch bands. The previous Apple Watch was available in 38 mm and 42 mm sizes.

The leak coming directly from Apple's website means it's quite likely this is accurate, but we won't know anything for absolute certain until later today when Tim Cook takes to the stage in California and says the names out loud for the first time.
