The shooter opened fire early in the morning at the loading dock of the Fifth Third Bank building

Cincinnati Police Chief, Eliot Isaac, said the shooter opened fire at the loading dock and lobby area of the Fifth Third Center in the city's Fountain Square around 9:10am this morning.

"Oh, no, no, no, no", the woman said as she slumped against the wall and spoke to Santa Perez's sister, the paper reported. Two of those patients are among the dead, officials said, one is in serious condition and the other in critical condition.

Also Thursday night, the "Cincinnati" sign on the Duke Energy Convention Center featured a special design with the colors of the city seal to honor those who were killed in the Fifth Third Bank shooting. Though the scene was announced as secure at about 9:15 am, the circumstances surrounding the shooting were unclear, and police said they are trying to determine a motive.

Records show the shooter formerly lived in SC and South Florida and had been charged with some non-violent crimes years ago.

"It could have been any one of us", Mayor John Cranley said.

"A very horrific situation", Isaac said at the shooting scene.

Jessica Hanson, who works on one of the lower floors, said a co-worker had taken the elevator down to get a drink, and when the doors opened, she almost stepped on a man's body. Multiple shot, and tragically there are fatalities.

Two officers "rushed to her aid and carried her out of the line of fire after she was shot", the statement reads.

Leonard Cain told The Enquirer he was going into the bank when someone alerted him about the shooting. He tried to do the same for another woman also about to enter the bank, but he was too late.

"I'm so thankful to the paramedics and first responders and the doctors, nurses and staff at UC Medical (Center)", she said. Cook said she and two other employees hid in the bathroom.

He says the officers risked their lives by running into the line of fire. "And I'm thinking about how I can make a difference in the future", Austin said.

Vijayawada- The death of Pruthviraj Kandepi, who was among the three people killed by a gunman at a bank in the U.S. state of OH on Thursday, has left his parents distraught. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims, their families and all involved.

He lived in the Cincinnati area since about 2015, most recently in the nearby village of North Bend, Ohio, Isaac said. Another moved to Cincinnati a year ago to take a better job with Fifth Third Bancorp.

Ohio Gov. John Kasich tweeted he was in contact with officials over what he described as a "Senseless act of gun violence". "The scourge of gun violence leaves only loss", Sittenfeld wrote on Twitter. He did not get to the upper floors of the building.
