Sarri, who has won his first Premier League four games at Chelsea, said he asked for some time to think about his future and was considering staying with the Serie A club. It was not respected in the timing.

"Now I hope that Ancelotti can achieve what I came so close to".

So far it has proved a success but Sarri is still in the dark about a number of things that went on this summer - in particular his sacking from Napoli after leading them to second in Serie A last term.

In the meantime, Sarri is settling into his new surroundings well and enjoying life in the Premier League, where Chelsea have won their first four games. "I, as a Napoli fan, am happy Carlo is now the coach because not only has he won wherever he has been, but he has always been liked by everybody".

According to a report from the Mirror, Joao Santos explains that Chelsea stole the march once it became clear that Maurizio Sarri would replace Antonio Conte. "Here it's a party, it's a pleasure to arrive at the stadium and see supporters wearing different shirts having a beer together".

"I sign autographs for the fans of the opposing team on the sidelines, before and after the match".

That situation resolved itself once Ancelotti was approached, but Sarri knew nothing about goings on at Stadio San Paolo after being kept out of the loop by controversial Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis.

"There are games with so much intensity, physicality. English football is different to Italian and it's played in extraordinary structures". "So at the beginning to understand it all, was not so simple".

"I'm grateful [to De Laurentiis] though because he gave me an opportunity to coach the team I love, and if I'm here at Chelsea it's because I coached Napoli".

"The food more than anything, but I'm getting used to the meat and salmon here".
