IPhone XS: A cheat sheet for professionals

In brief: Apple is reportedly considering dropping the Plus branding on its larger iPhone in favor of the Max moniker.

Two separate sources indicated Apple's pricing strategy to German-language blog Macerkpof, suggesting that the low-priced 6.1-inch iPhone could start at just $699 here in the U.S.

What is the battery size of the iPhone XS? The colors he used might be a bit ambitious, but the design is otherwise expected to be a pretty spot-on representation of the third new iPhone model Apple is expected to unveil next week at its iPhone event on September 12th.

Apple is set to announce three new iPhones this month with the iPhone Xs and now iPhone Xs Max named. The large 6.5-inch iPhone and the mid-sized 5.8-inch phone will both be called the iPhone XS and both have an OLED screen, according to 9to5 Mac, which reported on the new devices based on leaked images.

According to a report on macerkopf.de, which had earlier revealed the September 12 launch date, the iPhone Xs will have a price of €909, while the iPhone Xs Max will have a price tag of €1,149.

The recall is only for iPhone 8 devices sold from September 2017 to March 2018. With that in mind, take these prices with a grain of salt - especially with regards to the iPhone Xs family. The 3 iPhones include upgrades to the existing iPhone X and as well as iPhone 9.

Alongside the iPhone X, Apple announced a wireless charging pad that can charge an iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods at the same time - something that's not now possible with wireless chargers based on the Qi standard. This will be the first dual-SIM iPhone and it will most likely be a China-exclusive.

Other rumours are far more sketchy.

Just like the iPhone X, the iPhone XS will feature the Secure Enclave hardware-based key manager and Face ID biometric authentication. However, the device will get more colour options in comparison to its expensive siblings.
