Israeli officials do, however, seem keen to demand Hamas fulfill the obligations that are supposed to kickstart this deal, including ending all protests at the border, and all incendiary balloon flights.

The newspapers said that Israeli navy Saturday seized a Gaza-bound aid ship while in global sea water and steered it to the Israeli seaport of Asdod.

Incendiary balloons and flaming kites launched by Gazans have wreaked havoc in the Israeli communities surrounding Gaza since April, sparking fires that have scorched thousands of acres of farmlands and countryside. Hamas and other resistance groups have linked their fate to Israel freeing Palestinian security detainees.

United Nations and Egyptian-led efforts are under way to mediate a long-term ceasefire between Israel and Hamas who have fought three wars since 2008.Hamas officials had no immediate comment on the ship´s seizure.

Ten activists aboard were killed, leading to a major diplomatic crisis between Israel and Turkey.
