Manchester United coach Jose Mourinho has confirmed the club will be without Serbian midfielder Nemanja Matic for the start of the new English Premier League season.
Mourinho had expressed a desire for two new arrivals but says it will be "not a drama" if the club make just one new addition.
That's after Mourinho said before United's opening pre-season tour match in the US against Club America that Dalot would be unavailable for the start of the season due to injury and that it was expected the defender would be "ready for September".
"I would like to have two more players, but I think I'm not going to have two", said Mourinho. Normally you don't get what you want which basically happened throughout my career.
Jose Mourinho is now the bookmakers' favourite - yes, favourite - to become the first Premier League manager to lose his job this season.
Asked if he knows his likely line-up for the first Premier League game against Leicester, Mourinho said: "More or less, I know". It's not going to be very different.
Reports reaching home from the USA tour depict players too nervous to talk openly about what they think, with the Daily Telegraph and The Sun claiming those in the squad feel they are "treading on eggshells".
Thus far he has bought three players including Brazilian global Fred, but Mourinho is keen to have two new faces in the squad come the opening match with Leicester on Friday week. "He's come in even after the Liverpool [defeat] and spoken very highly of what we've have given as a team and as a unit".
Joel Pereria looks set to join Jose Mourinho's former club Vitoria Sebutal on loan for the 2018/19 season, according to reports from Portugal. Go to www.sky.com/mutv to find out more, or go to Sky channel 418 and press red.
"I agree totally with the window closing at the same time the Premier League starts".
Mourinho - who having guided United to Europa League and League Cup success in his first season - delivered nothing last term.
The interesting thing about United's potential options within the Premier League is how they represent two completely different pathways that the club could take by buying one or the other.
To add to their woes, the gaffer has revealed that he faces a lengthy injury list to add to his missing big-name players recuperating from a taxing World Cup campaign.
