According to multiple reports from local Italian media, the 57-year-old actor was injured in Sardinia, where he is now filming the mini-series, "Catch-22".

The John Paul II hospital in Olbia said Clooney was released on Tuesday. Clooney was also seen being treated on the side of the road before being transported to a hospital.

The 57-year-old Academy Award victor was travelling on a state road in Costa Corallina, a province of Olbia, when the crash occurred, TGCOM24 reported.

George Clooney has been taken to hospital after his scooter collided with a vehicle, leaving the Hollywood A-lister injured. Clooney left the hospital at 10 a.m. local time, after being escorted there by ambulance and receiving medical attention.

Imagine getting into a auto accident and realizing the person operating the other vehicle was the generous and handsome George Clooney.

An official at Sassari town hall confirmed to the BBC that Clooney had been involved in a "minor accident" but had no serious injuries. He received an MRI, and reports claim Clooney suffered injuries to his arm, leg, and pelvis.

"He is recovering at his home and will be fine", Clooney spokesman Stan Rosenfield told The Associated Press in an email. "Clooney is in Sardinia to direct a TV series called Catch 22".

The north-east coast of Sardinia is popular with the rich and famous, although Clooney is on location on the island to film a new mini-series, Catch 22.
