As such, this means that her original vision for a Star Wars game has been scrapped entirely - which may have already been the case, considering that Hennig was previously working with Visceral Games, which EA chose to shut down last October, with news at the time stating that the company wanted "pivot" from her original concept.

Hennig took the stage at the Gamelab Conference in Barcelona for a Q&A, where she confirmed to Eurogamer critic and reporter Rob Purchese that she had "not worked at EA since January, technically, legally".

EA Vancouver's Star Wars game, which started development at the since-shuttered Visceral Games, is "still very much alive", according to its former creative director.

"The Vancouver studio is working on something pretty different".

"So yeah, I'm not doing anything Star Wars", Hennig said.

Another side effect of the Visceral shutdown was Hennig's status as an EA employee being in limbo.

She added: "I haven't been in, but look - I get along with all those people, I consider even the guys on the exec team friends".

Read between her carefully chosen words and it's not particularly hard to realize that EA was dead-set on making this game something it wasn't created to be.

She then went on to discuss how independent operations are going and how she hopes to stay independent for the rest of her career.

Though she has nothing to announce at the minute in regards to this new studio, it is exciting to know that Hennig is looking to explore creative possibilities within virtual space.

Update: Amy Hennig has spoken out on Twitter to clarify any confusion regarding her Star Wars game reportedly being shelved. That's called Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and was teased at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) this year.

Now we know she is no longer with EA. Speaking recently withEurogamer, Amy Hennig has revealed more on the events of last October along with what she plans to do next. This news meant that the studios Star Wars project led by Uncharted creator Amy Hennig - codenamed Ragtag - was in a state of limbo along with the staff who had were now without a job. "We wish Amy all the best with what comes next, and we will all be watching with excitement", the company said in a statement to The Verge.
