Kristen Stewart Just Broke All The Red Carpet Rules At Cannes

In a silent rebellion at the recently held 71st Cannes Film Festival; Kristen came, posed, kicked off her Christian Louboutin heels and casually walked the rest of the red-carpet barefoot on her way to a screening of Spike Lee's film "BlacKkKlansman".

However, she did wear her high heels for part of the red carpet, reports The Telegraph.

Dozens held a moment of silence at Cannes to protest the brutal murder of Palestinians on Monday by the Israeli army.

"It has become really obvious that if [a man and I] were walking the red carpet together and someone stopped me and said, 'Excuse me, young lady, you're not wearing heels".

The pictures of the actress taking her shoes off literally made headline news around the world, and we can't help but think how ridiculous that is.

Cannes is renowned for attracting the world's most attractive people for a week of breathtaking red carpet moments.

In an effort to put an end to the age-old sexist tradition, the member of the jury, Kristen has begun speaking out against the dress code and the sexist fashion expectations at the event. Manal Issa was attending the premiere of the film "Solo: A Star Wars Story". You can not come in.' Then (I'm going to say), 'Neither is my friend.

In the images, Kristen can be seen running up the steps holding onto the heels of her shoes as she goes.

At the 2016 festival, Stewart told Vanity Fair that the "no flats" policy needed to change immediately.

Not just Kristen but others too have spoken out against the policy, including British actress Emily Blunt, who said: "Everyone should wear flats, to be honest". It's just like you simply can not ask me to do something that you are not asking him.
