It appears that some Liverpool fans won't mind their club battling it out with Merseyside rivals Everton for the signature of Manchester City's Yaya Toure, when the legendary Ivorian midfielder leaves the Etihad at the end of the season.

Already crowned Premier League champions Manchester City apart from winning the League is breaking new records as they smashed three Premier League records in their 3-1 victory over Brighton on Wednesday night.

"We want 100 points and finish this almost-perfect season in the Premier League", Guardiola said. Now it's one more game, we'll try for 100 points and finish this nearly ideal season.

The midfield behemoth was signed in 2010 from Barcelona and became one of the most crucial figures as City turned from also-rans into a dominant force.

Guardiola talked again of "trying to write a new page" in English football to emulate the Liverpool side of the late 1970s and 1980s and Manchester United in the 1990s.

"They are friends of mine - Ferran, Txiki, Khaldoon - and we have time to talk fluently about what is best for the club and us".

And when quizzed if he intends to stay in the Premier League, Toure said, "Yes, because of my family".

Bravo failed to cover himself in glory once more after the restart, spilling Jose Izquierdo's cross-cum-shot into a unsafe area from where Brighton failed to take advantage.

"That's why we are so satisfied".

As he now prepares to move on, Guardiola says his place in the club's history should be strongly recognised. "He will choose the best for him but I think if he has still the desire to play he is going to play". I'm free to go. "Thank you for being a wonderful teammate both in the dressing room and on the pitch".

"The most important moment for me was the goal against United [in the 2011 FA Cup semi-final]".
