The Face ID in the Apple iPhone X has some issues

According to an internal document obtained by MacRumors, the service providers will now be able to replace the iPhone X units with a new one, given the damaged ones are crippled with the Face ID issue.

A customer checks an iPhone 7 inside the new Apple store Saint-Germain during the first opening day on December 03, 2016 in Paris, France.

It seems to be fix season for Apple, as the company recently sent out special instructions to its Apple Authorized Service Providers for the iPhone 7 and iPhone X. The first deals with a microphone problem, while the second is concerned with Face ID.

The tech giant reportedly has sent a support document to retailers and authorised service centres addressing this issue.

What does the rear camera have to do with Face ID? If this doesn't fix the issue then users should run audio diagnostic. And if that does not turn out to be the case, the employee has to perform a simple unit replacement for the customer. Apple has claimed that this new Face ID should replace the conventional Touch ID that was introduced with the iPhone 5s. It's entirely unclear what the cause happens to be, but the effect is that the speaker button appears greyed out during calls; while some users may not be heard during FaceTime chats and phone calls.

If Face ID still doesn't work after this, then Apple is allowing the Apple Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider to give out a whole unit replacement instead of performing a same-unit display fix. Some users have noticed that features like pano, slow-mo, and time-lapse still work, while others did not. But when I try to setup Face ID it says, "Face ID is not available try again later", user posted on his Reddit account. The front-facing camera works perfectly.

In due course, the user had got his unit replaced with the new device by an Apple Store. "The telephoto is connected to the true depth and was not working", a Reddit user said. The lenses differ on which they do.

iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus microphones stop working after upgrading to iOS 11.3 - What to do? The wide angle did the ones that worked and is connected to the front facing camera.
