A Netflix spokesperson has now confirmed to the Associated Press that Tambor will appear in the upcoming fifth season of Arrested Development, although the extent of Tambor's role is not known. Production on the new episodes came to an end in November of past year, but it's only this week that Tambor's involvement has been brought up by a Netflix spokesperson.

According to CBS News, Netflix confirmed the news of Jeffrey Tambor's return to the outlet ahead of Arrested Development's big premiere via the online streaming platform later this year.

Tambor is the star of Amazon's hit show, Transparent.

He has dual roles on the show - the feuding Bluth family's scheming father George Bluth and his hippy brother Oscar.

"New" episodes of Arrested Development are on Netflix! It is unclear though if his return in Season 5 seals his fate with the series. Tambor officially left that series in February ahead of its fifth season, following multiple misconduct allegations against him by his former personal assistant, Van Barnes, as well as guest star Trace Lysette.

In November, Lysette accused the Emmy Award victor of lewd behavior when she was dressed in a lingerie top and shorts. "I felt his penis on my hip through his thin pajamas".

Some members of the Arrested Development cast have previously made public their support of Tambor despite the allegations.

For Jeffrey Tambor, there's always money in the banana stand.

"I am deeply sorry if any action of mine was ever misinterpreted by anyone as being sexually aggressive or if I ever offended or hurt anyone", Tambor responded when the allegations were reported. Tambor denied the claims, calling her "disgruntled".

It's not clear exactly when Season 5 will be released, but on Wednesday, Ron Howard tweeted a photo of himself recording the narration for the show.

To make a more cohesive product that more closely resembled the first three seasons of the series, Hurwitz re-edited the season, expanding it from 13 episodes to 22 episodes.
