According to The Sun, Football Association chiefs will take retrospective action on the decision from the panel which must be unanimous meaning that Salah's fate is now said to be in their hands.

Liverpool's Egyptian forward Mohamed Salah has been voted Player of the Year by the Football Writers' Association, completing a sweep of England's individual prizes.

MOHAMED SALAH clinched the PFA Player of the Year award last night.

'We were promised a solution and God willing the issue is on its way to being resolved'.

"I heard what he [Firmino] said about it being an easy decision for him and I can really imagine that it was."He knows and appreciates absolutely this club".

Egypt's Minister for Youth and Sports, Khaled Abd Abdel-Aziz reportedly made a tweet a few hours after Mo Salah's, probably as a reply to his. The hashtag "Support Mohamed Salah" in Arabic became the number four trend on twitter feed.

He said they have been waiting on the Egyptian officials to contact them or give a soothing response as to why they did what they did and how they intend going about a resolution but have heard nothing from them until then. They may have hosts Russian Federation in the group but along with Uruguay and Saudi Arabia anyone of the four could easily qualify.

On Thursday, Salah wrote on his official Facebook page a post reading, "Unfortunately the way things are being handled is insulting, I was hoping for a more decent way".

Abbas argued that EFA and its sponsor, advertising agency Presentation, had no right to use Salah's image without written consent from MS Commercial, Cayman, the company that owns Salah's image rights.

"What's the plan?! We just see more and more billboards and ads coming out which we have never authorised!"
