WhatsApp will let users re-download deleted images, videos on Android

The authorities of Ghana's capital Accra on Saturday ordered the mosques and churches to restrict the use of the loudspeakers and instead make use of the social networking application WhatsApp to initiate prayer calls to the people.

WhatsApp has been running a trial of its payments feature with a limited set of users since February 2018.

WhatsApp will be saving these media files in their servers for a much longer time. If you delete any WhatsApp photo, image or GIF file from your phone, you can not download it again.

This feature rolled out incrementally to all users, Whatsapp is adding more features, functionality to Whatsapp payments with new updates.

As per the report released by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp will again allow users to download all kinds of deleted media, such as videos, GIFs, voice messages, images, and documents, from its servers. The report also claimed that this new feature was introduced for Android users between version 2.18.106 and 2.18.110.

WABetaInfo points out that undowloaded media is now stored in WhatsApp's server for 30 days. Gadgets 360 has been able to verify the new feature is now available in the WhatsApp version 2.18.113 on Android. According to WABetaInfo, the Twitter account that tracks changes in WhatsApp's beta builds, the company is rolling out a new feature for Android that will enable users to again download media files that they may have accidentally deleted. It seems version 2.18.113 of the Android app supports this feature. However, as per some sources, Whatsapp is now not allowing media files that are too old to be downloaded again. However, the feature only works for content that has been received in the past few months provided the user has only deleted the file and not the chat in the app.

Since the Request Money feature is still in the Beta phase, only those who are registered WhatsApp Beta users may test it.
